• Transparent right through to the applications
  The only information required when transferring a file is :

  The file NAME and the NAME of the called party

  The attributes, called party settings and protocol to be used are handled directly by the monitor

• Direct file handling
  No need for the files to be moved : the files can be accessed directly wherever they are located (groupe/account, directory/sub-directory)

• Various call options from the monitor
  - control panel interface (operator)
  - set of commands to be included in the Streams
  - procedures to be incorporated in the programmes

• Concept of CODE APPLICATION / PROFILE
  enables once-only profile definition of the downloaded files and how they are to be assigned for operating purposes

  contains the file attributes (record length, etc...) and the transfer mode to be applied (compression type, format conversion, EBCDIC / ASCII translation, etc...)

  enables received or end of transmission processing to be launched automatically
